Hokkaido Trip26 - Coffee Roasting Workshop Hakodate Misuzu Daimon Store, the first coffee roaster in Hokkaido

スポンサードリンク

Misuzu Coffee is the oldest coffee shop in Hokkaido, but on my first visit to Hakodate in 2017, I ran out of time and was unable to stop by.
This time, I visited the first Misuzu Coffee store, Coffee Roasting Studio Hakodate Misuzu Daimon Branch, and enjoyed their famous mocha soft serve.

The first coffee roasting machine in Hokkaido is located in front of the Coffee Roasting Studio Hakodate Misuzu Daimon Store.

Misuzu Coffee was established in 1946 by Suzuki Shoten, Hokkaido's first coffee shop, which opened in 1932, as a directly operated coffee shop (named "Misuzu" at that time by public solicitation) in this area.

Misuzu Coffee is characterized by the fact that, at stores where roasting machines can be set up, green coffee beans are available in the store, and freshly roasted coffee beans are served after an order is placed.

The shop offers a wide range of coffee beans, from Blue Mountain, Kopi Luwak, Geisha, and others priced at over 2,000 yen per 100 grams to those priced at around 400 yen per 100 grams.

The first coffee roasting machine in Hokkaido in the store is not used, but a high-speed roasting machine "Jet Roaster" roasts the coffee in about 3 minutes.

There was a good aroma as someone had just ordered beans.

In addition to selling coffee beans, the Daimon branch offers take-out and a coffee corner where customers can enjoy coffee and soft ice cream.

Soft ice cream is 300 yen for take-out and 410 yen for in-store, and blended coffee is 250 yen for take-out and 480 yen for in-store, making take-out more economical.

Coffee rolls and other coffee-based sweets also look delicious, so I would like to buy some next time.

I ordered coffee soft from the coffee shop.

It is considered coffee soft, but it is mocha soft with special coffee powder on top.

It was so good that I bought it again when I dropped by the "Coffee Roasting Studio Hakodate Misuzu Kamiiso" in the Aeon Kamiiso after that.

Misuzu Coffee, a long-established Hakodate coffee shop that is easily accessible, is also located on the first floor of Hakodate Airport, so you may regret leaving Hakodate while enjoying coffee soft serve and cake.
