Since I went all the way to Hakodate, I went looking for a cafe with a view of the sea.
Cafe Umi to Glass
Location : 15-2 Sumiyoshi-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan
Access : Approximately 15 minutes by car from Hakodate Station. About 15 minutes walk from Yajigashira City Tram Station.
Cafe Umi to Kasuko is located on the ocean side of the road leading from Yajigashira Station to Cape Tachitai.
There is a parking lot for several cars across the street, but please note that it is narrow.
(building and entrance)
Other than "Umi to Hashiki," the other sections of the building are used as design offices or residences. The other lots seem to be used as a design office (?) or for residential use.
(Inside the store)
When you enter the restaurant, the Misuzu Glass gallery is in the front (I forgot to take a picture of it), and the cafe space is on the ocean side in the back.
The seating is divided into three groups on the ocean side and two groups on the building side. Even if the sea side is occupied, they will move you to the sea side in turn if it becomes available.
(Menu)
The regular menu consists of crepes and drinks.
The drinks seem to have become popular because of the bright colors of the drinks, which are very Instagrammable.
A special menu was posted on the corkboard.
Cafe Umi to Glass is run by one person and is ready when an order is placed.
There is a warning sign at the entrance, so don't think that it will take a long time and wait with an open mind and a view of the sea♪
(View of the sea)
If your timing is right, you can even watch airplanes departing from and arriving at Hakodate Airport.
(Crepes and drinks)
The crepes were freshly baked and very tasty.
Popular during the warmer months are lychee soda (right) and lemon soda (left).
The lemon soda is unexpectedly sour, so if you do not like sourness, the lychee soda is easier to drink.
The table is under the window frame, and a stand was prepared for taking stylish pictures of the ocean and drinks.
It is not an easy place to get to, but it is worth the trip for the beautiful view and great photos.
However, since it is a one-operator operation, it is not suitable for the demand of stopping by during a gap time, so it is recommended to reserve some time to go there.
