When I traveled to Obihiro in October 2020, I stayed at Hotel Grand Terrace Obihiro in front of Obihiro Station, but without breakfast.
Therefore, I looked for a place near Obihiro Station where I could have a morning meal in the early morning.
I went to "Trantoran Masuya," a famous bakery in Obihiro located at the station, but it was open from 9:30 a.m., probably due to the new coronavirus.
There did not seem to be any other places open early (around 8:00 a.m.), so I went to "CAFE BLUE BIRD," a fashionable cafe near Midorigaoka Park that offers morning breakfast, although it is far from the station.

Access：About 10 minutes by car from Obihiro Station. Southwest side of Midorigaoka Park
From Obihiro Station, pass by Midorigaoka Park, which has many tourist attractions such as Obihiro Zoo, and follow the road past the post office.
The building is blue, but it is difficult to see from Midorigaoka Park, so be careful not to miss it.

As the name "Blue Bird" suggests, the building is blue, but it has the feel of a fashionable suburban café.
Blue Bird opened in 2013, and is recommended for its homemade bread and delicious coffee. Homemade bread is sold in the store for takeout, so you can take it out or bring it to Midorigaoka Park.

I visited around 9:00 a.m. and there were many people in the restaurant, so I took only one picture so as not to cause any inconvenience.
The restaurant consists of seats around the wall and tables in the middle. Also. There is a cuckoo clock on a pillar in the middle, and a pigeon came out and cooed at 10 o'clock.
There are bookshelves in various places, and if it is not crowded with an element of BOOKCAFE (just to read), it might be a good place to relax and read a book.

This time, I was shown to a seat just inside the entrance.
I thought it might feel oppressive because we were sitting facing the wall, but it did not feel so uncomfortable because the table was wide and the space in the restaurant was spacious, and it was also a good leading line because I did not mind the movement of people to read a book.

All include a drink (cappuccino is +60 yen).
On this day, two of us visited, so we ordered the soup set and the clubhouse sandwich.

The soup set (770 yen) comes with one piece of bread.
There are many varieties, but I went to see the actual one at the place for sale in front of the cash register to decide (the photo is a bean bread. (The photo is a bean bun with large black beans in it).
The soup is made with a lot of local vegetables. I was allowed to taste it and it was delicious.

The Clubhouse Sandwich (720 yen) is served only in the morning.
Bacon and other ingredients are placed on homemade bread. The ingredients are delicious, but I was surprised at how good the bread was.
It was one of the best clubhouse sandwiches I have ever eaten, and I think it is worth trying if you are visiting for sightseeing.
It was a very enjoyable (and delicious) one-hour stay. If I have a chance to visit Obihiro again, I would like to drop by again.
